Description :
Orange provides us with minerals (potassium, magnesium and calcium), fiber and vitamins (folic acid, vitamin A and, above all, vitamin C). It belongs to the range of citrus characteristic of winter.
One of the first varieties that appears in the market (in October) is the Navelina, soft and very sweet. In November there is another variety, the Navel, which has a lot of acceptance and can be bought until the month of April. The Navelate variety, very sweet and juicy, is later, like the Washington, that arrive in the month of February. La Salustiana, with thicker and wrinkled skin, is very suitable for making juices.
Not every year will be Sanguinas, because to get the color red (rich in anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant) it is necessary that orange trees suffer very low night temperatures.
One of the last varieties is the Valencia Late, which has a slightly elongated shape, very fine skin and lots of juice.
